Elderly Problems: Fixing the Economic Crisis

By Joseph J. Kusnell

Boomeryearbook.com: Elderly Problems

Can you tell me how you can fix it so that people, who could not afford the homes they bought when they bought them, can afford them now? I’d like to know that.

These people are not suddenly going to acquire skills they never had to make them more able to get jobs that would permit them to buy the homes they just bought.

They couldn’t afford them when they bought them and that’s’ why Fannie Mae created the no-doc loans. Because they had no down payment, no work history and no credit. So we just ignored all those things and gave them the loans anyway. Now we are going to put them into a position to afford them? how?

The most recent idea is great. Reduce the principal of the mortgage. Then reduce the interest rate. Then extend the terms. Well isn’t that the same as giving the houses away. And if they don’t have jobs what difference does it make? They still can’t pay their mortgage no matter what it is. No, the plan has huge holes. But I can tell you what to do about it. And it’s not that complicated.

1. Reduce interest rates to 4.2% for new homes or refinanced homes. That will let return money to the homeowner which he can use for his mortgage or to stimulate the economy.

2. Make longer terms available for whomever wants them. Up to 40 years.

3. Rise the unemployment compensation by 25%. Find the money wherever you found the trillions you just spent. This is critical because people on unemployment can’t find jobs and if they can depend on this money, they will rebuild confidence in the economy while you try to fix the problem.

4. The key. Guarantee unemployment as long as the unemployed rate is over 5.0%. It will cost you 130 billion a year but it will stabilize the economy, allow families to function until they can find work, and will restore confidence in those who are suffering. When the unemployment rates comes down to 5.25%, letters go out warning the unemployed time is running out and they need to go find jobs. When it hits 5.0%, give them a 60 day warning and then stop the payments.

These steps while expensive are not as expensive as what you are doing and this will save the country. You see the key is you have to help those who cannot help themselves.

People in the working classes cannot work until you give them jobs. My plan will guarantee their existence until they can do so themselves. And I believe it will generate the kind of confidence and security that will help to actually turn things around. On their unemployment along with the redoing of mortgages, I think lies the answer to the real estate crisis.

Four points to my plan. And I think they will do the job.

The Future of Facelifts May Be In Using Radio Frequency Waves: Baby Boomers Turning to Thermage

The Future of Facelifts May Be In Using Radio Frequency Waves:Baby Boomers Turning to Thermage

The Future of Facelifts May Be In Using Radio Frequency Waves:Baby Boomers Turning to Thermage

by BoomerYearbook.com

Put away your anti-wrinkle, anti-sagging creams; say “No!” to the knife; and turn your back on Botox.  There is a new way of keeping your face looking young and fresh called Thermage.  This new method is yet another discovered benefit of using radio frequency waves.  It was previously found to be quite effective in getting rid of wrinkles, lifting eyebrows and tightening sagging skin around the eyes. In Chicago autumn, (2007)  Dr. Javier Ruiz-Esparza from San Diego, California (the man behind the discovery) told The American Society of Dermatologic Surgery about his findings.

This exciting new breakthrough is said to produce a more natural look than the previous options available for facelifts.  This is so because the heat waves help in distributing the tissue under the skin while cryogen is used to keep the surface of the skin cool.  This is done by alternating cool-hot-cool waves onto the skin.  This produces a tightening and lifting effect of the skin as a result of the heated tissue contracting in response to the cool skin surface.  The entire procedure takes between 30-90 minutes depending on what part of the body you are treating.

Unlike facelift surgery, Thermage does not normally produce immediate results.  In fact, it could take two or three months before you will actually see any result, and a few more before you will look your best.  The reason for this is that the radio frequency waves only use the amount of collagen that is in your face to do the facelift.  However, the waves also stimulate growth of new collagen which occurs over the next few months.  When your face has the appropriate amount of collagen, you’ll notice a significant difference in your looks.

An advantage to using Thermage to eliminate or reduce wrinkles and sagging is that it is safer than some of the other available choices.  Even though Botox has become very popular, there is very little research as to its long-term effects on the body.  Facelift surgery can cause nerve damage and other complications, especially if done by a surgeon who is not very experienced.  There is, also, no risk of getting skin cancer from using Thermage.

Currently, radio frequency waves work wonders for people with low to medium loss of skin elasticity.  The waves do not react differently to different skin pigmentation in the way some lasers do.  This is very good news for people with dark skin.

Baby Boomers who feel young and want to look fresh would do very well to do some research on Thermage.  It is the perfect solution to someone who’d like to get rid of a few wrinkles and lift a bit of sagging skin here and there.  You’ll feel good knowing that the collagen in your body is all natural; no downtime, nothing invasive.

Accidental Discovery Gives Hope To Alzheimer’s Treatment

Accidental Discovery Gives Hope To Alzheimer's Treatment

Accidental Discovery Gives Hope To Alzheimer

by Boomeryearbook.com

During a recent experimental brain surgery to control the appetite of an obese man the doctors made an accidental breakthrough that may very well unlock how your memory works. It was simply a side-effect of the treatment of obesity, but the memory stimulation could potentially pave the road to treat Alzheimer’s disease.

The doctors pushed electrodes deep into the hypothalamus – the section of the brain thought to control appetite – and stimulated it with an electric current. Instead of suppressing the patient’s hunger, the deep brain stimulation unlocked vivid memories of an experience 30 years earlier. This result was nothing short of amazing and has raised the possibility of a pacemaker for the brain. It has also created a path of study now underway for patients with early Alzheimer’s disease.

Professor Andes Lozano, lead researcher of the Toronto Western Hospital, explained that after his team planted the electrodes, memory was most intense near the fornix, a grouping of fibers that carry single signals within the limbic system, which is involved in memory and emotions and is situated next to the hypothalamus.

The patient recalled in detail being in a park with friends and then his girlfriend back when he was about 20. As the electric pulses intensified he was able to relate the scene more vividly. After surgery, the patient recovered for two months, after which the electrodes were fitted in a second time. More tests showed that his ability to learn was significantly improved when the current was switched on and his brain was stimulated. It soon became clear that the patient performed well in memory tests when the electrodes were stimulated but less when they were switched off.

Professor Lozano, who also teaches neurosurgery at the University of Toronto and is a world authority on DPS, stated that the approach could only address the symptom of forgetfulness. It would not modify the course of the disease but could still prove a useful tool in the fight against dementia. “It gives us insight into which brain structures are involved in memory,” Professor Lozano said. “It gives us a means of intervening in the way we have already done in Parkinson’s and for mood disorders such as depression, and it may have therapeutic benefit in people with memory problems.”

The technique is now being studied on six Alzheimer’s patients in an initial pilot research. Only three patients could afford to have the device surgically implanted. Rebecca Wood, Chief Executive of the Alzheimer’s Research Trust, stated that she is keeping a close eye on this research as it will be interesting to see whether this method offers any benefit to people with Alzheimer’s.

Though accidental, this ‘discovery’ was greatly appreciated and research is already underway to confirm its use as the Alzheimer’s population is expected to double among baby boomers. It has become an amazing achievement in the ongoing battle to tackle the disease and we look forward to its effectiveness on our beloved relatives.

We at Boomer Yearbook are excited and thrilled by the prospect of this type of Alzheimer’s treatment. We’d love to hear your thoughts.

The Hidden Damage of Poverty: A Boomer Call to Action

The Hidden Damage of Poverty: A Boomer Call to Action

by BoomerYearbook.com

Just how much difference does having money make? We all know it dramatically affects our lifestyles but beyond the obvious signs, how does it affect our children? Research studies indicate that some children from low income families, between the ages of 9 and 10, have adversely affected brain functioning due to financial poverty. The saddest part of these findings is that the damage is so severe as to be equivalent to damage caused by a stroke!

Many stroke victims suffer prefrontal cortex lesions. This is the area of the brain that houses the problem solving skills and superior or executive judgment and thinking. Researcher Mark Kiskiyams, a cognitive psychologist at the University of California-Berkeley, found that  9 to 10 year old children from the low-income families studied, showed the same pattern of prefrontal difficulties as stroke victims.  Kiskiyams’ study has been combined with other evidence to suggest that poverty adversely affects the child’s brain. It is known that there are detrimental effects caused from malnutrition, stress, toxic environments, and illiteracy. But many boomer adults are surprised to learn that the neural systems of poverty stricken children do not develop the same way as do those from middle income class children. Growing up in poverty has a direct effect on the development of linguistic skills. In addition damages can include that the child cannot plan properly, recall details or even concentrate sufficiently to understand school work. If this problem is recognized then it can be dealt with. It requires intensive intervention and time. It is a call to action for adults and educators as exercises such as focused lessons and games need to be structured to get these children to think out loud or use their executive functions. It is now becoming all the more important to consider how a child’s experience, (i.e. environment or nurture) affects brain function.

In poor third world countries, the outward effects of poverty, particularly children’s poverty is all too evident. It’s not hard to see a child with sunken eyes and a swollen tummy and know that this little one is starving. However, there is no excuse for poverty stricken children in the developed countries of the world. Yes, it’s true we don’t see the outward signs of poverty that we have just mentioned, but are we so blind that we cannot see the inward signs of those suffering in rich developed countries? We are not discussing the depths of poverty, only the periphery of it – low income families. Are these conditions so prevalent that it is affecting the very minds and healthy growth of our children? If so then we need to stand up, take notice and act upon giving all children equal opportunity. Naturally every family is unique and there are individual circumstances. Not all low income problems can be solved in the same answer. The goal should be to address the problems that can be rectified and at least eradicate some of them.

Boomers; we need a call to action. We changed the world once. We are not done yet.  We need to get involved and make a difference.

Another Troubled Teen: A Boomers Guide to Adolescent Disorders

by BoomerYearbook.com

This x-ray image illustrates 3 metal staples embedded in the hand of a teenage girl. (Credit: RSNA)

It seems as though there are a multitude of emotional disorders which afflict adolescents.  Just as one condition seems to be understood, another one seems to almost immediately appear. One of the latest of such emotional disorders reported by the Radiological Society of North America, (RSNA) is Self-Embedding disorder, or SED. This is a condition where a person creates a self inflicted wound, and then forces an object into the wound; a type of self- injury disorder that seems to have a disproportionate prevalence amongst teenage girls.

In most cases doctors are able to remove the objects with relative ease with the use of ultrasound and minor imaging techniques to determine the objects location.  However, it is rare for the afflicted teen to report the embedded objects until the pain becomes unbearable. Alarmingly, in one RSNA report they stated that 9 teenage girls showing symptoms of this disorder had to have 52 objects removed from their bodies!  Some of the items they were successful in removing were glass, wood, plastic, paper clips, and pencil lead. These are just some of the types of objects that are being embedded.

Some of these objects are not detectable through the x-ray so the use of ultrasound was beneficial in finding items such as wood, crayon, and plastics. The Doctors would make a small incision in the area of the implant and remove it. Fortunately, the above 9 teens were able to have the objects successfully removed without complications.

Radiologists seem to be at the forefront in detecting Self Embedding Disorder, as they are uniquely qualified and highly successful in detecting such embedded items; thus recognizing SED afflicted persons. Often the embedded objects are found in the arms, hands, feet ankles or neck. In one particular case a patient embedded 11 objects into wounds.

Although embedding is a relatively newly identified affliction, other types of self inflicted injuries, such as Cutting and Self Injury, are not. There is also a diagnostic distinction that is more apparent in SED in that it is readily identifiable as a self inflicted condition; whereas in cases of cutting and other self injuries individuals can often blame the injury on other incidents or accidental causes. It is almost impossible to do this when an object has been embedded. Medical personnel are astute at identifying what caused the initial injury in comparison to the object imbedded.

When a parent or grandparent notices strange or numerous injuries in their teenager, the adult must be on the alert for the possibility of this troubling new disorder. Adults must watch closely for signs of self inflicted wounds, and get immediate treatment help from a qualified mental health professional. The key to preventing recurrences is to disrupt the cycle. Parents and grandparents need to tune into their child’s everyday activities and pay attention to their friends (or lack of friends), social interactions, clothes and music preferences.  Recognizing the signs of a disturbed teen is crucial for the treatment of this disorder.

It has been determined that at about 70% of those suffering from this disorder will repeat the disturbed behavior and are frequently harboring suicidal ideation and/or have been diagnosed with other serious pathological issues such as bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.

Knowledge is the best initial intervention.  If you are suspicious, please get help from a qualified mental health professional. Self Embedding Disorder is a troubling new boomer concern but you do not have to suffer alone! Come join others at boomeryearbook.com for information and support.

We at Boomer Yearbook welcome your thoughts and comments about this disturbing and potentially life threatening newly recognized disorder.

“Can You Hear Me Now?” Beltone’s Answer To Tinnitus and Your Hearing Problem

"Can You Hear Me Now?" Beltone's Answer To Tinnitus and Your Hearing Problem

by Boomeryearbook.com

Tinnitus is basically a noise or “strange sound” that develops within the ear rather than from the outside environment. This can occur in either one or both ears; with a frequent onset during a baby boomers 50’s or 60’s. These sounds have been described as different noises constantly playing in the ear, whether ringing, buzzing, humming, whistling or any similar sound. These episodes are uncontrollable and are often accompanied by various other symptoms; such as dizziness, pain in the ear, a sense of fullness in the ears and headaches. Tinnitus can affect anyone at any given time, but thanks to the wonderful workers at Beltone, we can all kiss our tinnitus problems away with just a little hearing aid.

Your Brain At Work
Beltone is a worldwide hearing brand that makes it their point of duty to provide quality solutions to the hearing impaired. They develop solutions to hearing problems that keep your needs as the point of focus. They have manufactured and distributed hearing aids that continue to evolve as they study tinnitus more intensively.  They have now come up with a different concept of tinnitus. They believe that tinnitus is simply perception in the brain, that upon noticing the tinnitus sound, a strong negative emotional response is triggered. As you begin to focus on the strange sound then your brain loses the ability to filter out irrelevant noises before it reaches consciousness. Due to this fact, they believe that by retraining the brain to filter out these irrelevant noises you should be able to get rid of this disturbance. Your clinician will be able to help you find relief with a combination of counseling and acoustic therapy using their signature Beltone Tinnitus Breaker (a hearing aid).

Acoustic Therapy
During acoustic therapy, the Beltone Tinnitus Breaker is used to help gradually reduce your focus from the tinnitus sound and guide your brain to change its response to the tinnitus. Eventually your negative perception and frustrated feelings will be reduced.  Through counseling your clinician will help you understand what exactly tinnitus is, why it affects you and how you can reduce these episodes.  He will also urge you to keep in mind that the treatment for tinnitus may take several months.  It is also very important that you maintain a healthy lifestyle when combating tinnitus as you will be required to fight the natural inclination to isolate yourself and avoid too many different sounds.  Be sure to relax as much as possible, you may find that meditation helps as well as a healthy diet and exercising regularly.
You may be required to wear the Beltone Tinnitus Breaker for up to eight hours a day and improvements can occur in as little as the first three months.  However, a long term successful treatment may require you to have acoustic therapy sessions for one year or more as managing your progress is an important part of your acoustic therapy. Simply a small price we must pay to regain our full hearing abilities.
So which would you prefer? Spending a lifetime of irritating sounds, with headaches, and feeling frustrated twenty–four hours a day or enrolling in the Beltone acoustic sessions and beginning to once again hear only the sounds that you want to hear?

Can Vitamin C Really Treat Cancer?

Can Vitamin C Really Treat Cancer?

Can Vitamin C Really Treat Cancer?

by Boomeryearbook.com

Studies in mice and trials already under way to test similar studies in humans suggests that Vitamin C can in fact help to treat cancer. The idea became extremely popular in the 1970s after the Nobel prize-wining chemist Linus Pauling suggested that it helped terminally ill patients survive for longer periods.
Mice
In a recent study, researchers led by Mark Levine, of the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases in Bethesda, Maryland, gave Vitamin C to mice intravenously. The researchers injected immune-deficient mice with cells from three aggressive human cancers:  ovarian, pancreatic tumors and a form of brain cancer called glioblastoma.  They found that the Vitamin C injections slowed tumor growth by up to 53%.
Levine explained that by injecting the Vitamin C into the bloodstream, it is possible to get much larger amounts of vitamin to a tumor than is possible with oral supplements.  Although vitamin C is usually an antioxidant, under these circumstances it acts as an oxidation boost that kills cancer cells.  He also suggests that these Vitamin C injections be added to the conventional cancer therapy.  They also noted that there were woman in a preliminary clinical trial getting the same doses of vitamin C as those seen in the experimental mice.
Humans
This trial, led by Jeanne Drisko of the University of Kansas City, aims to recruit fifty women to test the safety of giving intravenous vitamin C, plus other antioxidants given orally, on top of existing therapies for ovarian, cervical or uterine cancer.  Though there is only little evidence that this works in humans, the clinicians at Drisko’s clinic will administer the injections to all patients willing to pay for it.
Meanwhile, the studies continue and the Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Zion, Illinois, is testing the safety of these Vitamin C injections in late stage cancer patients for whom there are no other treatment options.  To date, only 10 out of the 18 patients have been enrolled in the trial.
Not So Good Alternative
Precise answers on the effectiveness of the intravenous Vitamin C will only come from larger trials in the future.  Unfortunately, it has come to the researchers’ attention that desperate cancer patients are self medicating with an inexpensive compound that has not yet to be tested in humans called Dichloroacetate (DCA).   Despite the warnings of toxic poisonings and even after researchers from the University of Alberta, who used the chemical to shrink tumors in rats that later died, the practice continues.  It is due to this fact that the researchers are afraid to report their findings to the public as they fear they will start injecting themselves with Vitamin C without medical supervision.
There are large numbers of cancer patients that take antioxidant vitamins without telling their doctors.  While some complementary approaches suggest that antioxidants can reduce side effects, conventional chemotherapy and radiotherapy are thought to work in part by generating free radicals which kill cancer cells.  As a result, antioxidant vitamins can mop up these radicals as they often interfere with cancer therapy.  You must also ensure that you are not on any other supplemental vitamins in order avoid any complications.

New Stem Cells Research May Mean Possible Improvements In Your Hearing

New Stem Cells Research May Mean Possible Improvements In Your Hearing

New Stem Cells Research May Mean Possible Improvements In Your Hearing

by Boomeryearbook.com

Stem cells occur naturally in the human body.  They are not blood cells, nerve cells, brain cells or any other kind of cell.   In fact, they have no identity by themselves — at least not yet.  They can, however, develop into different types of cells, replacing cells that have been damaged or are somehow, defective.  They have the ability to clone themselves and make more stem cells.  Adult stem cells, which exist in mature body tissue and organs, continuously renew their numbers as needed throughout an individual’s life, replacing damaged cells as needed.   It is this fact that caused researchers to wonder if these stem cells could correct hearing loss.
When the outer ear captures the sound waves traveling through the air and then directs it into the ear canal it is said that hearing occurs.  This is where you find the tympanic membrane (ear drum) and the three smallest bones in the human body namely, the stirrup, hammer and anvil.  You will also find the cochlea, a snail–shaped organ that contains delicate, hair–like nerve fibers that translate sound waves into electrical impulses that are, in turn, transmitted to the brain. The hair–like nerve fibers are very delicate and can be damaged or impaired very easily due to age, disease, exposure to loud noise and other medical and non–medical conditions.  Hearing–loss, most often permanent in nature, is the result of the damage to these nerves.
With this in mind, a group of researchers from the Indiana University School of Medicine under the instruction of Dr. Eri Hashino, Ph. D., set out to find out if they could transform cell nerves into sensory nerve cells, called neurons.  To do this, they took stem nerves from the bone marrow of lab mice and transformed it into cells that had numerous characteristics similar to neurons.  Neurons transmit sound from the outside world to the brain where the sound is processed and interpreted.  These results suggest the possibility to re-grow and replace damaged neurons with the stem cells taken from bone marrow.
Dr. Hashino stated that their interest in the marrow cells was due to their potential use in autologous cell-based therapy (using stem cells from a patient as a part of that patient’s treatment).  They were ideal for use as the bone marrow cells are easily collected and can be kept alive in the laboratory until needed.
Around the same time of Dr. Hashino’s experiments, additional research was conducted in Tokyo.  These studies revealed that the bone marrow stem cells injected into a damaged ear can speed hearing recovery after partial hearing loss. It showed that some re–growth of cochlear fibrocytes is possible after these cells have been damaged.  However, only partial recovery was observed over a period of weeks, but patients who experience traumatic hearing loss tend to permanently lose their ability to hear high frequency sounds.
Research on the practical use of a patient’s stem cells to restore or improve hearing is just beginning.

Animal studies indicate the potential to regenerate the nerves that convert sound waves into electrical impulses that are subsequently delivered to the brain for processing.  Today, the future looks bright for restoring the sense of hearing to those who have lost or are losing it.

No Rest Until They Find A Cure For Glaucoma

No Rest Until They Find A Cure For Glaucoma

No Rest Until They Find A Cure For Glaucoma

by Boomeryearbook.com

David Calkins, Monica Vetter, Nicholas Marsh-Armstrong, and Phillip Horner, four committed researchers from the organization, Catalyst for a Cure funded by the Glaucoma Research Foundation proudly dedicate their lives to finding a cure for this debilitating eye disease. They intend to do this by applying recent breakthroughs in neuroscience, molecular biology, genetics and immunology as well as the latest available technology in biology in order to gain insight into the causes of glaucoma.
The Glaucoma Research Foundation has donated more than 36 million dollars over the past thirty years to speed up the process of the discovery of a cure for glaucoma.  The Foundation funded one of the first breakthroughs on the generic front, when Wallace L.M. Alward, MD at the University of Iowa, and his colleagues made the connection between glaucoma and an area of the chromosome called ‘chromosome 1′.

They later funded a group led by Jon R. Polansky, MD, in San Francisco, CA, that discovered that the TIGR protein was located in the same area of ‘chromosome 1′ that the Iowa group was researching. Upon hearing this information, the scientists at the University of Iowa, led by Edwin A. Stone began to focus closer on the TIGR protein.  They discovered that small changes in the DNA sequence (mutations) in this gene cause glaucoma and that this was the cause of most forms of glaucoma in babies and about five percent of adult onset of glaucoma. This, of course, brings us a step closer to finding a cure of glaucoma.
The Catalyst for a Cure researchers have found that the changes to the nervous system in the eye and the brain occur earlier than the disease appears probably even as the eye is developing.  Their goal, to date, is to identify exactly what to target in the disease pathway with new drug or genetic therapies and exactly when in the disease process the therapies would be most effective.
They realize that the treatment for any disease is a huge task and that is why they have pledged their hearts and souls to the project.  They believe that the innovative layout of their organization and the talent and dedication of the scientists it has brought together are their best hope to discovering a cure for the disease.
Until that glorious day when they find a definite cure of the disease, early detection of the disease and continuing treatment can preserve your eyesight. Depending on the type of glaucoma, treatment may include medication, usually prescription eye drops or surgery to lower the pressure in the eye and prevent further damage to the optic nerve.  So we salute the dedication of the wonderful researchers at the Catalyst for a Cure as we await the day that they discover a cure for glaucoma.

Crystalens HD (Crystal Lens HD Implant) Will Make You Forget You Ever Had Cataract.

Crystalens HD (Crystal Lens HD Implant) Will Make You Forget You Ever Had Cataract.

Crystalens HD (Crystal Lens HD Implant) Will Make You Forget You Ever Had Cataract.

by Boomeryearbook.com

Our eyes contain a transparent, biconvex intraocular tissue that helps bring rays of light to a focus on the retina this is known as the crystalline lens (natural lens). As we as baby boomers are aging this lens, unfortunately, stiffens and hardens causing us to lose our ability to focus and creating vision problems.  When this lens becomes so cloudy or opaque that our retinas cannot create clear images, it is said that we have contracted a cataract. With a cataract, it becomes extremely difficult to see in very bright light or low–lighted conditions.

Fortunately developing a cataract does not mean you will never see again as doctors worldwide can perform cataract surgery in a safe and effective way so as to improve your vision.  The surgical procedure for cataract is very simple. The doctors simply remove the cloudy natural lens and replace it with a crystal lens.
This lens has been the first implant that works exactly like the human eye. It instantly adjusts focus so that you will be able to see both near and far. According to Dr. Michael Woodcock, a highly experienced board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in vision correction surgery at Carolina Vision Center, it is a fairly short surgery and that he normally attaches the lens to the muscles of the eye during a ten-minute procedure.

Crystalens HD (Crystal Lens HD Implant) Will Make You Forget You Ever Had Cataract.

Crystalens HD (Crystal Lens HD Implant) Will Make You Forget You Ever Had Cataract.

There is also usually a very short recovery period. Most patients are able to carry on with their everyday lives almost immediately after surgery though you will be given follow up appointments so as to allow the doctor to monitor your recovery.  It has been said that after surgery your vision will become sharper than it was originally and this has been verified by cataract patients all over the world.
When Sherry Jasinski, a middle aged lady, was first diagnosed with cataract in 2003 by Dr. Lawrence A. Seigel, M.D., the founding eye surgeon of Suncoast Eye Center, she was told that she had just needed new glasses and to ‘keep an eye’ on it.  By 2006 the cataract had indeed gotten worse; Sherry noticed that she was not seeing things as bright as before and that her glasses no longer performed their duties especially at night.
Dr Seigel performed cataract surgery on Sherry in 2007 and the results were nothing short of amazing.  She had her right eye done first so as to test what the results would be like. She soon found that the results were great; everything was bright and well outlined. Upon leaving the surgery center she was able to perform most of her normal tasks as she had perfect vision from her right eye. After such amazing results Sherry, soon after, had Dr Seigel perform the surgery on her left eye.
Now, a year after surgery Sherry has only one regret and that is that she had not done the surgery sooner. When she went for her check up the tests revealed that she had 20/20 vision.  Sherry agrees that the results are incredibly wonderful and she would quickly recommend the procedure to anyone diagnosed with cataracts.
Sherry, along with many other cured cataract patients took the leap to exchange their cloudy natural lens for crystal lens and now they have perfect vision.  So can you.  Simply contact your local eye center today and forget you’ve ever had cataracts.
