A lesson to be learned from Greece

There is a lesson to be learned from Greece. Like us, they hired too many state workers. Like us they overpaid them. Like us they gave them unsustainable benefits including in some cases 55 year retirement with FULL life-time benefits.

When Greece couldn’t sustain this giveaway, their financial house of cards collapsed but the workers could care less. They have been overpaid and using taxpayers money for years. But now, it has dried up. There is no money. Do they care? No. They are selfish and they are stupid.

They seem to think by rioting, more money will be generated.  Then they can continue on their own gravy train even if the other taxpayers are forced into tax-bankruptcy.

What these morons don’t seem to understand is that there is no money. The money they have been stealing for years has run out. An adjustment is needed.

That’s the trouble with getting people used to more than they are worth. When you eventually have to cut them back, they can’t handle it.

I wouldn’t want to be running any government that had to correct this type situation. It is not likely to be peaceful.

Our unions at GM are like this. Do anything to anyone but not to us. After all, “we earn our money!”. THEY bankrupted GM but don’t blame them! Let the taxpayer bail them out just as long as they continue to get what they have been getting or close to it.

lol

I have a friend who is a steel rod-setter. He and his wife have a $500,000.00 home in the suburbs. He will tell you “We earned every bit of that money”.

In what society is a rod setter worth that kind of money? If he is worth that, what must a doctor be worth? Or an engineer? BUT, doctors and engineers aren’t unionized.

And what does this do to a nation’s economy? Well, it can destroy it if labor’s demands are excessive. Or it can drive employers to seek cheaper labor if they are.
In America they were so –

How about if all those Greek government workers were replaced with cheaper labor? The country would recover quickly. The government workers wouldn’t.

Unions are composed of a lot of politically and economically uninformed people; hence, it’s hard to tell that them the truth about anything. They won’t hear it. Instead they riot.

Better them than us.

But our day might be coming if we don’t straighten out our act soon.

A Cure for Cancer

Monday, April 12th, 2010

                                          A Cure for Cancer

I wish to ask you – the reader – a question that I suspect you have heard before. But, I am going to ask it anyway just to get started. Please read this entire letter, this is the hottest thing in Cancer treatment in America today.

Over a billion dollars is spent each year on cancer. This includes cancer research, cancer treatments and cancer drugs. Clinics, research facilities and hospitals run on money donated to find a cure of cancer. What if they found out that a new process could cure many types of cancer without expensive treatments, without expense drugs, and with no side effects?  Would these groups greet the news with elation or dismay?

Let’s paint a scenario: You are the President and CEO of a billion-dollar Pharmaceutical company that markets cancer-fighting drugs. These drugs are very expensive and you sell many hundreds of millions of dollars worth each and every year. Your company employs 2,300 people who work in sales, research, administration and accounting. In other words, you are a highly successful billion-dollar corporation that is doing quite well.

One day an employee of the research department rushes into your office. He is obviously very exited. When he catches his breath, he let’s you in on his news. “Chief, we have just found a cure for cancer!”

“You have,” you ask him guardedly.

“Yes, sir, tomatoes!”

“Tomatoes? Tomatoes cure cancer? Regular home grown variety ordinary tomatoes?”

“Yes sir, regular tomatoes. Taken in a certain way, they cure cancer with no side effects at all! And Chief, you can grow you own in your yard so you can cure yourself and it won’t cost you anything! Isn’t that great!!!”

How do you respond? Now I am sure the thought of curing cancer is something you have often paid lip service to, but now that you as the CEO of this giant pharmaceutical are faced with a cure, how do you feel? What do you say?

As you stare at your employee you begin to feel ill. You can see your job, your company, the jobs of all 2,300 employees, all the shareholders money and many others affiliated with the work you do all being ruined overnight. You are going to lose hundreds of millions of dollars not this year, but this year, next year, the year after that, and every year forever. You are about to lose billions of dollars and your job.

How do you respond?

We all would love to say we stand up and shout, “Praise the Lord!” because we are all good people and curing cancer is a wonderful thing – something we had dedicated our life to or at least seemed to. But if you think that, you are more than a bit naive.
I am not going to carry this any further and I am not going to say the CEO would bury the cure because I don’t know what would happen. But what I do know is nobody making a fortune off a disease is truly dedicated to curing that disease. Treating it yes, curing it, no.

Do you know how new drugs are brought to market? A pharmaceutical company with a research lab discovers this drug they think might treat a certain disease. They present their facts to the FDA and ask for approval for a Clinical Trial. Sometimes the National Institute of Health will give a grant to a company to run a trial but at others the company will pay for the trial themselves if the FDA gives them the okay to go ahead.

So they begin their trial. First, they run a Phase 1 with a few people. If that is successful then they run a Phase II with more people. If that is successful then they run a Phase III with even more people. If that is successful they petition the FDA for approval to market their drug. They may have spent a couple of hundred million dollars on this trial but if the drug gets approval, they can sell it and recoup their money and make a lot more. It’s a big stake gamble but that’s what they do. That’s why they put up the money for the trial.

The FDA is empowered to make the final decision but everyone is aware that the Drug Company has a huge financial investment in that drug and – well we’ll let it go there.

Now back to the tomato cure. In order to be sure the tomato cure works and has no bad side effects, we have to run just such a Clinical Trial. And to run that trial, someone has to pay the hundreds of millions of dollars that are needed.

Do you think any pharmaceutical company that is basically going to be put out of business if this trial is successful is going to offer to pick up the tab? I don’t think so. Okay then, where is the money to come from?

Well, one way is for the Federal Government to – through the National Institute of Health – pick up the cost of the tomato trials. Actually that’s about the only way. And if the FDA won’t or can’t put up that money, the trials may simply be put on the back burner and things will go back to normal.

Now just to explain: we are dealing here with a maybe – maybe the tomatoes will work and maybe there will be great success and maybe there will be NO side affects. But we won’t know that until we finish these very expensive tests. And convincing the government that it should put all that money into tests on tomatoes may be a hard sell since if the tomatoes don’t work, a lot of people are going to point fingers in their direction.

So maybe the tomato tests will get run and maybe they won’t. Or maybe they cut the money way down and try just a little test and if that works, try a little bigger test and so on and so on. And maybe they will and maybe they won’t. And why the uncertainty?
Because no one is going to make any money from this discovery so no one is going to invest any of his money in it. Certainly, cancer may be cured but while that may be a great thing for we-the-people, it isn’t so great for these particular companies.
They could end up out of business and a lot of their lives ruined. You can’t expect them to voluntarily contribute to their own demise.

Now why am I writing this. Well, because someone like this is going on right now outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where a new cancer treating technique that proponents think will cure many cancers with no side effects and no expensive treatments or drugs, is languishing for lack of sufficient money to move it forward.
This is not some third world miracle drug, or something off the back shelf. This is not some goofy idea promulgated by a disbarred doctor. No, this is a process invented by a man who had cancer and died from his cancer a few months ago, before his machine could be used on him. This is an idea that has gotten a lot of publicity and a lot of attention and may well be the best idea in cancer treatment in the past 50 years. But it has a couple of problems. It is NOT expensive, it uses NO high-priced drugs, and there are NO side effects.

The tests of this treatment to date have been 100% successful and they have been conducted in some of our finest cancer research facilities. But it is time to move forward through the next stage, i.e. human tests. This takes money, in fact about 12 million dollars over the next two years. Where is that money going to come from? Who will benefit from this cure? We will. Those of us are afraid of cancer, those of us who have cancer, those of us who have loved ones that have had cancer. WE are the ones to put up the money to drive these tests forward. Or nobody will. The hospitals have been getting some money but we need to raise 12 million to get this done!

This has been called the best new idea in cancer treatment in 50 years. Okay then I say we find 100,000 people who will contribute $100 each to the hospitals that are conducting the tests on The Kanzius Machine. (The Kanzius machine is named after its inventor John Kanzius, recently deceased from cancer. Sadly John’s own machine could not be used on him since it is illegal to use devices such as this one before they receive FDA approval so the doctors couldn’t do it.)

At this time, I want you to cut and paste the following link and go read about The Kanzius Foundation. Read about this marvelous potential cure for many types of cancers not ten years or twenty years from now but as soon as the trials are finished and the results approved which could be within five years. Here’s the link: read the rest of this article and then go to the link and read all about the Foundation. It was featured twice on 60 Minutes and created quite a stir.

Okay so now you know, this is very promising but they need lots of money to get it done. Whatever you give is tax deductible but $100 from 100,000 of us should do the trick. Checks can be made (as outlined in the link) to The Kanzius Foundation in Pittsburgh, Pa.

Come on folks, this is for us. After all, we can’t reasonably expect those people or corporations that are going to lose so much money if this is successful, to chip in to put themselves out of business. This is something we have to do for ourselves. Write your check today. It’s the best $100 bucks you will ever spend.

Send it to THE KANZIUS FOUNDATION at the address on the link: We CAN cure Cancer. You and me – so let’s do it now. A good man died to bring us this idea which he conceived at Children’s Hospital in Philadelphia watching kids die of Cancer as he stood there crying helplessly. We can make his dream a reality if you will help. So, what do you say – are you willing to make the effort? After all, the life you save may be your own or that a loved one or friend. You just never know where Cancer is going to strike next.

Thank you and please, pass this on. It’s really up to us this time.

Dear Glenn Beck

The Cunning Plan: BoomerYearbook.com

The Cunning Plan: BoomerYearbook.com

Glen,

The attack on your is what happens to heroes. If the other side wasn’t being hurt, they would ignore you. Their attacks prove you are getting through to the people.

The people on the left are underhanded, vicious, vitriolic, and phony. They have done worse than any of the people they criticize. They are despicable and degenerate. Consider the very ugly Bill Mayer or Code Pink or so many liberal Black activists. They rant and rave and revile anyone that opposes them saying whatever pops into their mind without regard to truth or consequences and then complain bitterly if the other side does half as much in return. They care nothing for the truth and to try to engage them in an exchange of ideas is futile. They don’t want to learn, they want to indoctrinate.

The conversion of American discourse to this state is all but unbelievable. I say “all but” because looking back at history, you can see where the same thing has happened time and time again. The difference is that I never thought it could happen here. But it has and in surprisingly short order.

Glen, I have heard the liberals on the left are trying to run you off the air. That is unacceptable. We need to keep you on the air so I am wondering what you think of some of us trying to form a sort of PAC with people willing to pledge $5 or $10 a month on a recurring basis in order to raise one million dollars a month with which to buy commercial time on your Fox News to protect you from them.

The word is your show is losing sponsors who are afraid of the intimidators and whose commitment to free speech may not be as strong as their commitment to profits. I have also read that Fix has lost a million dollars a month in sponsorship for the Glen Beck Show. Is that true? Is that what it would take to keep you on the air?

Glen, there are 20 million people that listen to conservative talk radio. At least three or four million that identify themselves as belonging to the Tea Party group. And another (many overlaps of course) 2 million that listen to your Fox show every night. From that group all we need is about 100,000 folks to support you with an average $10 monthly contribution if a million-a-month is the magic number.

I can’t believe that would be so hard to do. But we would need an organization that understands how to handle that much money, how to dispense it, what records have to be kept since the Administration will be all over them, and we need to be assured that a million a month is enough to do the trick.

Of course someone has to run the group and get paid but we would hope that we could do that with one guy working out of his own office so the overhead for this would be kept at a minimum.

Do you have any thoughts? Would it work? Is it necessary? Is there anyone that you know that has the background to run with this and make it happen?

I know and you know our country is teetering on the brink of a disaster and most Americans don’t even know it. Your show is one of the places they can learn the truth. We need to keep you on the air.

Finally, take care of yourself. Trust no one. These are animals that will do whatever they must do to get what they want. Thugs, thieves, liars, and cheats – and people to whom violence is simply a tool to be used to achieve an objective. After all as Chairman Mao did say, political power comes from the barrel of a gun and that is not lost on them. So watch yourself.

Is this still America, Glen? I am 81 and I can’t believe what has happened to us in just over one year. Nor can I believe that so many of the more traditional elements of the Democratic Party seem to be going along with these Marxists and anti-American revolutionaries without so much as a whimper. Soon they will have convinced our people that the very word America is something to be ashamed of.

The Lady in the Statute must certainly have a tear in her eye for her liberty that is being lost.

So if you think this can be done or you know someone to head this up, let’s get started. Save the Glen Beck Show for America’s Sake.

That’s the ticket.

Can YOU Explain This Health Care Bill To Me?

Can YOU Explain This Health Care Bill To Me?
                                                      by Joseph J. Kusnell
First the benefits, some of which kick in next year and some in 2014:

1. Elimination of insurance company caps on medical expenses. Added cost for Insurance companies.
2. Elimination of exclusions for pre-existing conditions. Added cost for Insurance companies
3. Universal coverage: Everyone is insured. Millions to Medicaid at taxpayer expense.
4. Mandated insurance coverage required for ALL adults. Added revenue for Insurance companies.
5. Rules against dropping people who become sick. Added cost for Insurance companies
6. Single children to stay on their parents’ policies until age 26. Added cost for Insurance companies

Five of these six rule changes increase insurer’s costs and depress Insurance Company profits. Despite assertions to the contrary by the Democratic Party, the five largest insurers in this country in 2008 took home a 4.5% return on  investment (ROI) which is hardly newsworthy. They have no sack full of money to absorb these new costs and without new revenues they would likely face bankruptcy. Rule #4 was added ostensibly forcing young healthy people to buy insurance to help offset those increased costs similar to what is done with Social Security where young working people contribute to help offset the costs of retiring older people. Will it work? Let’s see:

1. Eliminating caps is a no-brainer. That should have been done long ago. If they wanted cap limits they should have also offered premium limits, refunding money to people who did not get sick. Caps were an anomaly.

2. Eliminating exclusions for pre-existing conditions: Are insurance companies allowed to raise prices for people with pre-existing conditions? If they are not, how will insurance companies pay for this increased coverage? How will it affect the cost of employer-provided insurance? If they are who gets to determine by how much? Will we also drop pre-existing conditions when purchasing life insurance or car insurance? That would be nice even if would put those companies out of business. (Suppose I take a room in your rooming house and after I am there a week, I find out I have a serious disease that I picked up in the place I used to live before moving in with you. This is a pre-existing condition. Is it still okay if I sue you for my disease? Is it okay if they make you pay for me?)  I don’t think so. Persons with pre-existing conditions should have been transferred to Medicare or Medicaid and that would have solved the problem. We didn’t need a new federal bureaucracy to take care of this problem.

3. 16 million people are now being transferred to Medicaid but if they qualify for Medicaid by reason of a means test now, why didn’t they qualify last year? The answer is, they did so again, why did we need this bill?

4 . Mandated insurance: If you don’t buy insurance, they say you will be fined. That’s to make young healthy people buy insurance so their money will help offset the costs of covering patients with pre-existing conditions. But there’s a problem. The fine for not buying this mandatory insurance is less than 25% the cost of insurance. So it’s easier to just pay the fine. Then if you get sick, you can go out and demand catastrophic insurance that is cheap knowing they can’t turn you down because of your new pre-existing condition because that’s now against the law. You win two ways and the insurance companies lose. Why was this set up this way? All this will do is drive insurance companies out of business, cost us jobs, and allow the government to take over the whole thing. Is that why this was done the way it was done? Wantta bet?

5. Kids on their parents’ policies. Kids don’t usually get sick before age 26 so this too is a no-brainer. Both these changes could have been accomplished with a one-page law. We didn’t need to create universal health care to do this. Anyway, who wants their kids to stay at home living off mom and pop until they are 26?

Which brings me back to the question: can insurance companies charge more for someone with a pre-existing condition and if so, who decides how much and if not how do they pay for extending this new coverage? Are we all going to chip in to pay it for them? Is someone going to pass a basket? Or is this designed to drive insurance companies to bankruptcy? You see, there are no teeth in Rule #4 so at this moment it is worthless; hence, with the new added costs, insurance companies will move toward bankruptcy. Another question concerns employer-provided health care insurance. If families cost more, will they tend toward hiring single people or people with fewer children in order to lower their costs? Will this be a reason not to hire workers with bigger families?

You know, no matter what the government says, government health care is going to cost more and provide less service than private insurance. That’s a fact. Do you think Washington is filled with geniuses? Look at everything they touch. Without an open taxpayer checkbook, they couldn’t run anything. That’s why everything they touch is in the hole BILLIONS or even TRILLIONS of dollars! The are paid too much, they work too little, they are inefficient, and they are deep into fraud, corruption and special interest contamination. Oh yea, they will lower costs. Right! If they do it will be the first time! No, we have been snookered. Expect higher costs, higher taxes and less and less service. Oh yea, and long, long waiting lines.

Okay, but regardless of all that, how exactly are we going to pay for this mess? Well, to start with in 2011, expect a new national value added sales tax.  Unfortunately this will effect working people (and those without jobs) a lot since working people spend most of their income just to get by. So it will all be taxed. Does that surprise you? Why, because they didn’t tell you? With politicians, words and deeds are seldom related and they hate the truth.

There will be other problems with this service as well. For example, people on Medicare or Medicaid. The government is going to continue to cut what they pay doctors for treating people with Medicare or Medicaid because those expenditures are getting so high. With that, the doctors will stop treating those patients. They’ll have to. They don’t make any money caring for them and even Doctors have to pay their bills. And so, the system will suffer.

If you don’t believe me, check the conditions in England and Canada where poor, old and sick people are exposed to universal health care services. Young people think it’s okay since they don’t get sick much. But check with the older people, they’ll tell you. It’s a lousy system. Some folks just die waiting to see a doctor.

We had the best health care in the world and we could have solved our problems. But no, we had to replace it with a government run social health care program installed by liberal Democrats and it’s going to suck. Should I rephrase that to say ‘you ain’t seen nothing yet’? Ever noticed all these people like Kerry, Pelosi, Gore and the Kennedy’s working for you so hard just get richer and richer doing it? Is that why there are more Democratic millionaire Senators in Washington than Republican? And are they on this new health care service plan? THEY ARE NOT!

What do they care about you? Remember when the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, went to Copenhagen a while back? Our country was in deep financial difficulty, right? How many friends and family members did she take with her, 100? How many Government jets did she use, two or three? How much were the rooms and the meals, $500.00 a day per person or was it more? And who paid for all that? The taxpayer did. Enough said.  Do as I say –

When all this stuff hits the fan a few years from now, you will be hard pressed to find anyone that will admit they voted for this bill. Like in Germany after WWII, when it became impossible to find anyone who had been a Nazi.

What do you think made America so much more successful than the socialist countries in Europe this last century? It was Capitalism and the freedom to make of yourself what you could. So why would we want to change that now? I’ll tell you why, to please the people at the bottom – to redistribute the wealth to people who say Capitalism held them back. Well, I disagree with them. Capitalism didn’t hold them back, THEY held themselves back. Now they have their hand out for everything they can get.

They say Socialism is where workers own the means of production. Okay, but do they? Look around at those countries. Look at the people who run them. What do you see? I see a new ruling class. I see new ‘rich guys’. While it once was the people that started and ran the businesses that got rich, now it’s the people that run the government who steal the businesses. How nice. But it won’t last long because these people don’t know how to tie their own shoes. They are leeches and when leeches are in control, everyone suffers. They will run this country into the ground. Oh my. What’s the use. A fool and his freedoms are soon parted. And we have a lot of fools in America today.

Kids on campuses who have never done anything never held a job, never supported a family, never have done anything much but live off their parents now tell the world how it should conduct itself. And they have no idea what the hell they are talking about or what they are doing to themselves!

How did this happen. Maybe we should shut down our colleges since all they seem to teach is sex, drug use and anti-Americanism.

Dream Dancer
by Joseph J Kusnell

I had a dream, the other night,
You were the vision I saw,
You danced for me with such grace and charm,
I was breathless and left in awe.

Your grace, your youth, your beauty too,
Lit up the night for me,
It was just that you were only a dream,
That lessened my fantasy.

For you danced with grace and beauty rare,
And such innocent purity,
That I long for the night when you will dance,
For real, but only for me.

It must be heaven to dance with you,
To hold you tight and to share,
Your beauty, your mind, your body and heart,
The sweetest found anywhere.

It is plain to me, I cannot hope to find,
In this round that goes round and round,
Another to take that place in my heart,
Where the memory of you is found.

So I sit and wait for that special hour,
When the vision of you will appear,
To dance for me – to light up my life,
Tonight and for all my years.

Obama does it again: Changes in the Law Relating to Credit Cards

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010
byb-Obama-defeated

“You just ran an interview discussing the recent changes in the law relating to credit cards. I hope you haven’t missed the underlying facts here. The new law prevents credit card agencies from doing things like assessing fees and charges that put you over your limit and then charging you an over-limit fee. Nice. That helps people that are over-using their cards for sure. The law also limits increases in the interest rates which you would expect normally to go to those people running high balances and who can’t make their payments on time. That also helps those that abuse their credit cards In truth, everything in this law helps those who are delinquent with their cards.

But as your interviewer pointed out, the credit card companies still “have plenty of things they can do to make up for this lost revenue”.

She went on: “they can (1) charge you fees for UNDERUSE of your card, they can (2) charge you fees for INACTIVITY on your card, and they can (3) charge you fees for carrying too SMALL a balance on your card. Why they can even (4) charge you a fee just to have a card. You charge this fee selectively of course because there is no use charging customers a fee who can’t or don’t pay their basic bill on time. They won’t pay that fee either. So what do you do? Well, you charge the people who DO pay their bills on time the fee and that way you WILL get the money.”

lol. Get it folks? Under this law, they are forced to give up the fees against the abusers (non-producers) while allowing them to make up for that by increasing the fees against the non-abusers (producers). The same thing these people have done over and over again. Take from the producers and give to the non-producers. Just like the proposed Cap and Trade. Does anyone think the increased taxes that the companies would have to pay won’t result in increased prices to the consumer to make up those lost revenues? Of course they will. Those that pay their bills anyway. It will just be one more example of wealth redistribution, taking from YOU and giving to THEM.

This administration continues to talk with forked tongue. They are inept, incompetent, and consistently dedicated to a redistribution of wealth program.

If you missed this you might want to look into it and then inform the public that once again, what this man does is not what he says he is doing.

It never is.

UPDATE: For those of you who have never read my article from last year titled “Alice in Obama-land”, please do so on my blog site or at www.boomeryearbook.com/blog.

In it, I predicted this would happen.

Obama has done it again. I hear today how the new law which went into effect today curtailing the credit card company’s treatment of users is a great boon to the American consumer. lol. But is it really? Or just another underhanded way of redistributing America’s wealth. I wrote this to Fox News today following a spot they aired:

A FEW IDEAS TO AID OUR FLOUNDERING ECONOMY

A FEW IDEAS TO AID OUR FLOUNDERING ECONOMY

By Joseph J Kusnell for Boomeryearbook.com

A bad idea: This economy has lots of very serious problems that may never be resolved. But the idea that a business is going to go hire someone for $104,000.00 who has been unemployed for 60 days all so they can get a $5,000 credit from the government is asinine. They simply will not spend $104,000 to get $5,000.00. If their business warrants adding someone at the high rate, they will do so with or without a tax credit. If it does not, they will not. Someone in Washington isn’t too bright.

Our problems seem to be magnifying daily. It’s now beyond special interest payoffs. It’s beyond politics. It’s beyond taking care of your support base or even your campaign contributors. It’s now about our future as a nation and the future of our children. In all my 80 years, this is the worst mess I have ever seen. And it’s not over yet, not even close. Soon, another explosion in real estate will hit us, this time commercial real estate like shopping malls. Their ARM’s are coming due. When that hits us this Spring, it will cause still another blow to our ailing economy.

We have a lot of problems. Nevertheless, here are a few ideas which might help.

1. Continue unemployment compensation until the unemployment rate gets down to 6.5% but introduce legislation to allow individuals to take jobs for less money and then if their new wage produces less income than what they were getting in their workman’s comp check, issue them a check for the difference. This would go on for three years to give workers a chance to adjust to lower paying jobs and perhaps earn an increase. It will also reduce government payments by up to 75% for each worker affected and that is a tremendous saving.

2. Re-introduce the old “Schedule-G” type IRS allowance for income averaging going back three calendar years for businesses and the last three years of employment for individuals. For individuals, if their average income for the last three years of employment is greater than the current year, the difference will be subtracted from the current year’s AGI. This is directed at those who have lost their jobs and had to take new jobs for less money. It will help them over the adjustment period.

3. Establish a 4.5% national cap rate on mortgages immediately. This cap on mortgage interest rates will remain in effect for five years and will be for all mortgages whether new purchases or refinanced mortgages. This will help the real estate market for home sales while helping to prevent more foreclosures by lowing carrying charges. It will also have the effect of revitalizing the economy permanently because refinancing puts more money into the economy on a monthly recurring basis unlike one time spending from a stimulus check.

4. Speaking of a stimulus, let’s have one more for $600.00 per family. BUT – and this is a big but – it will not be cash. This will be in the form of a purchase VOUCHER. The voucher will have a 120 day expiration date and will be transferable (we don’t care). However, the vouchers can only be used for the purchase of LOCAL services and/or the purchase of durable goods that are manufactured in the United States. (Not “Made in America” because that includes Canada and Mexico.)

5. GAMBLING. Hundreds of billions of dollars are now being spent in Casinos around the country and that money is ruining local businesses everywhere. They say “oh yes, but look at all the people we employ”. That’s true but it would be well to remember taking billions out of local economies and from small businesses causes lost jobs in those businesses. Usually a lot more than are hired by Casinos. Here is an example. Philadelphia Park has renovated its Casino and is now taking in millions a DAY. At five million a day, they will take in 1.8 billion dollars a year. Yes the Casino hires 600 people a good part of that money is coming from local communities. If you spread that 1.8 billion over a thousand local businesses, each one would get 1.8 million and with that increase in business they would hired in the aggregate far more than 600 people. Plus the businesses would then have to restock what they sold and that generates orders, and that in turn generates more employment by their suppliers. So the Casinos hurt not just the local community but the extended local community creating blighted areas wherever they show up. So it’s time to ask ourselves what kind of society we want to be. Once we limited Casinos to remote locales where people vacationed. That was much better than what our shortsighted states are doing now in their misdirected quest for tax money. You see folks, no matter where that 1.8 billion was spent, it would generate tax money one way or the other. This was a mistake. You can’t build a healthy society with Casinos on damn near every street corner (and yes, I do gamble).

6. Online Shopping: This is another attack on our society. With no need to maintain fancy stores in local neighborhoods, online marketers can offer products cheaper. We buy them and local businesses have to shut down for lack of business. Jobs are lost locally and society suffers. Our downtown areas become more and more blighted. You know, angry people with too much time on their hands are dangerous. Keeping people working in their localities is a sure way to keep the peace. Having an orderly society is equally important. Making money should not always be government’s number one priority. So what do we do. It’s like competing with cheap foreign labor only the competition is right here in our own country – usually. I say increase the tax on profits from online marketers to level the playing field. We need to reinforce our communities. When communities collapse, nations collapse. Online businesses take money and jobs from the local communities leaving us with empty deserted blighted downtown areas. If we are a society and not just a bunch of moneymakers, we need our local communities and we need our local businesses and we should take care of those who run businesses in our local communities and not be so generous with out-of-town online marketers.

7. The world is shrinking. We can’t stop that. But it is also causing us a giant problem: we have to compete with cheap foreign labor and nations that have no environmental laws, no health insurance mandates, no unemployment insurances and no labor laws. All these regulations tend to increase business costs so the lack of them decreases costs and that allows them to lower their prices and undercut our businesses that are faced with all those costs. So what do we do? About all we can do is find ways to help our companies out. So here are some ideas that might be of help.

8. Reduce corporation taxes based on the number of workers employed in the United States as a
percentage of this company’s worldwide employment. The more Americans you employ here, the less tax you pay.

9. Immediately transfer 3 billion dollars from the unspent stimulus money to the SBA for DIRECT loans to small businesses for startup or expansion. This is NOT to be a minority welfare handout, this is to be a sound business program lending money to entrepreneurs with going businesses or business experience married to a sound business proposal. I repeat: this is not to be another welfare program handout.

10. Encourage Americans to buy products manufactured in America wherever possible. Public service ads
explaining why they should might help.

11. Increase the minimum wage by $1.25 / hour.

11. Barring a major change in health care costs, grant a $1.50 deduction to companies for each $1.00 in health care costs paid for their employees.

ABORTION:

Abortion divides Americans. So here’s an idea. Let us take the profit out of abortions by making abortions unprofitable. Just set a price for abortions to cover all COSTS but nothing else. Make abortion clinics all non-profit. After all, why should anyone make money out of destroying the unborn? Making abortions a “product’ simply encourages more “sales” [sic: more abortions]. So, let’s take the profit out of abortions and then we’ll see whether this fuss is truly about a woman’s right to choose or simply about making money.

ENERGY: This is as dumb a policy as we have had for years. We send money to places near and far to buy their oil even though we have lots of our own oil including off shore and shale. But because of some convoluted reasoning, we would rather buy it from others who drill for it wherever the can find it without any regard to so called environmental problems rather than drill for our own WITH said safeguards. Then we turn around and lend them billions of dollars to help them drill for oil offshore (PETROBRAS, a Brazilian Company that drills OFFSHORE down there got two billion. I think Soros had a lot of shares in that company and that might explain it). Anyway, it seems we only care about the environment in our own country and not in other countries. Somehow I get the feeling it’s another scam. So let’s drill for our own oil wherever we find it. And develop our clean coal resources and our natural gas resources. The C02 scam is about over and these resources are plentiful in the United States. The fact is we haven’t even explored for 30 years so newly developed technology might uncover even more oil reserves that we thought we had. And there is always shale oil. We should have started this yesterday.

GOVERNMENT vs THE PRIVATE SECTOR: The workers doing the best these days are government workers. They make twice as much money on average as the people who pay them – the taxpayers – and they have better health insurance and better pensions. Plus they actually produce 1.8 hours less a day than their civilian counterparts.

There is a reason that of the 10% of American workers that are unionized, 70% work for non-profits (that’s a joke) or for the Government. Can you tell me who represents we taxpayers in wage negotiations between government Managers and government workers? Both are using OUR money so where is our seat at the table and where is the incentive to increase productivity or lower payroll and install cost cutting measures on the part of all these government workers?

The more people that we put to work in government in America, the more certain we are of failure. The sector that pays the bills should be the biggest by far and the sector that spends the money that creates the bills, needs to be as small as possible. So why are you all so hell bent to increase the size of the spenders (government) at the expense of those that produce (private sector). Can you show me any country in the world that ever prospered with that philosophy?

It is past time to stop spending money like drunken sailors. We need to cut the size of government not expand it. We need to reduce payrolls in government. We need to cut back down time and increase productivity. And we need to bring their benefits into line with what workers get in the private sector doing the same kind of work. Government is not SUPERIOR to the private sector it is INFERIOR. That’s why the private sector far out produces the public.

Working for the government is a great job. My friend has been working for a State government for 22 years now. He makes $100,000.00 doing a job that would get him about half that much in the private sector. He has a great pension plan and wonderful health insurance. All paid for by taxpayers who are not nearly so well off as he is. And do you know what he says to me? He says, “anyone who doesn’t work for the government is a sucker!” He’s obviously right. It is time to reign in the government. We need to cut government budgets by reducing both staff and expenses by 5% a year for the next three years for starters.

We are in a real mess and it’s just getting worse. Confidence is the basic motor for an economy and that’s what we don’t have today. Our people rightfully have no confidence in the future and that’s sad. Well, other than people working for the government. They are so isolated from reality it’s not even funny. That’s because they really don’t have to worry about losing their job as the rest of us do. Sometimes I get so confused: who works for whom again?

I care about Americans and about America and I am prepared to throw anyone – ANYONE – out of office that doesn’t have the same priority that I have. Mine is SAVE AMERICA. It’s far and away the best country this world has ever seen even if half the Obama appointees don’t seem to know that.

But that doesn’t matter because they aren’t going to be around much longer anyway.

An Opinion on Social Security

There is no way to tell today whether Obama will be in office for four years, eight years or perhaps indefinitely. I personally believe if he wins in 2012 he is going to be with us at least as long as Roosevelt was and that was 16 years. If so, there are going to be many changes made to our way of life.

Here is one that is only a  thought away. I believe in the next two years, you are going to begin to hear talk about tying social security payments to a “means test”. A means test, as you probably know, is where they determine if you really NEED your social security check or not. That will be dependent on your other assets. If they feel you can generate enough income from your investments (other than your house) to equal or approximately equal your social security payment, they will reduce your social security payment proportionately. Call it indexing social security.

You might want to consider this possibility in your long range planning. I do not think they will eliminate social security totally for anyone but they may reduce it seriously for people with net worth of $500,000.00 or more. After all, they are growing government and they need to find increasing ways to pay for these employees.

They have just announced they are hiring 1,000,000 employees at $10/20 an hour to count our citizens (census). I would have thought they could use postal employees who are already being paid to take the census. They could easily have suspended mail deliveries to residences one day a week for two weeks in order to allow the carriers to take the census. But then that wouldn’t have put another million people -? – on the payroll. So they will do it this way.

Our government has learned they can pretty much do whatever they want to us now and get away with it. So they will. Their goal is to take from those that have and give to those that have not. It certainly buys them a lot of votes.

The point of this is, if you have $400,000.00 or more in assets excluding your house, be very careful how much you depend on your social security. The check may be there but the amount may be seriously reduced.

Climate change data dumped

Climate change data dumped
Jonathan Leake, Environment Editor
SCIENTISTS at the University of East Anglia (UEA) have admitted throwing away much of the raw temperature data on which their predictions of global warming are based.
It means that other academics are not able to check basic calculations said to show a long-term rise in temperature over the past 150 years.

The UEA’s Climatic Research Unit (CRU) was forced to reveal the loss following requests for the data under Freedom of Information legislation. (Otherwise we would never have know that.)

The data were gathered from weather stations around the world and then adjusted to take account of variables in the way they were collected. The revised figures were kept, but the originals — stored on paper and magnetic tape — were dumped to save space when the CRU moved to a new building. (hahaha)

_____________________________________________________
The admission that the original data has been discarded follows the leaking of a thousand private emails sent and received by Professor Phil Jones, the CRU’s director. In them he discusses thwarting climate sceptics seeking access to such data.

In a statement on its website, the CRU said: “We do not hold the original raw data but only the value-added (quality controlled and homogenized) data.” (That means his interpretation of what the ground stations recorded.)

The CRU is the world’s leading Centre for reconstructing past climate and temperatures. Climate change sceptics have long been keen to examine exactly how its data were compiled. That is now impossible

(This would be really funny if it weren’t so serious.)

Here’s some information they aren’t tell us:

PS The raw data they are talking about came from ground collection devices placed around the world. The problem was they had specific rules for upkeep and maintenance of the stations (small boxes) to preserve the quality of their readings. These mandatory maintenance regulations were totally ignored in 3/4 of the world’s countries for years. Any data they collected had to be all but WORTHLESS.

Here are just a few examples:

(1) the stations had louvers on two sides that had to be cleaned of debris every week. That was mandatory. Unfortunately that was not done. In fact, some were uncleaned for months and even years particularly in 3rd world countries and parts of the world where political unrest was present or where people had all the could do just to stay alive. .

(2) it was mandatory that the small ground station devices been repainted WHITE every few months so they would not absorb heat and skew the results. That wasn’t done at all. In some cases, it was never done.

(3) There were stringent rules about where the weather collection stations could be placed. They units couldn’t be under trees, near buildings, near parking garages or automobile parking lots or anywhere except in clean, open, unshaded areas away from any contaminating influences i.e. buildings, cars, shade trees, air conditioning units, lights etc.

Turns out they were placed around the world in places that compromised their readings to such a degree that the readings were actually worthless. (They used them anyway because they liked what they showed – warming. Sure they were warm but the reasons were mechanical not natural.)

Interestingly, they did have weather balloon readings but since they contradicted the global warming results from the contaminated ground stations, they weren’t used. They knew the results they wanted.

This is a deliberate scam and those who perpetrated it belong in jail starting with Al Gore. They have cost the world billions if not trillions of dollars. This European meeting on climate change should be canceled today but it won’t be because it’s really about billions of dollars of American money!!!

There’s a sucker born every minute.

What constitues bribery of an elected official?

byb-Bush-miss me yet

By Joseph J Kusnell

Recently, the US House and the US Senate passed some legislation relating to Universal Health Care,. The vote was very close but fell generally along party lines – Democrats for and Republicans against with few exceptions.

However, recently some legislators on the edge, unsure of which side they would support, were given special inducement by both the Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and the Majority Leader of the Senate Harry Reid.

Pelosi and Reid it has been revealed doled out hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars – some from people that oppose the health care bill – to members of congress in order to BRIBE them to change their vote.

Three that we know about came from (1 ) California – a hundred million dollars or more to pay for a hospital wing in a congressman’s district (2) Louisiana – hundreds of millions of taxpayer money allotted to a Congresswoman’s district for Katrina victims and (3) three hundred million sent to Blanch Lincoln’s state of Arkansas in exchange for her vote on this same bill. There may be others. Very likely there ARE others. .

My question is who says this is legal? First, who gave Pelosi and Reid the right to dole our taxpayer money to representatives in order to bribe them to vote for projects favored by Pelosi and Reid? How is this legal? How is this not a crime?

I would say it is out and out BRIBERY of an ELECTED OFFICIAL. No matter they are all in the same political party, that isn’t important in the law. What is important is that no one try to bribe an elected official. If you do, you have committed a federal crime and you should go to jail.

Here is the definition of bribery: “To corrupt or gain influence by means of a bribe.”

That’s exact what Nancy Pelosi did. That’s exactly what Harry Reid did. Not only that but the money to doled out is PUBLIC MONEY and it came from many people that in fact do not approve of the legislation in question so they used everyone’s tax money for a very specific personal purpose. Isn’t that misuse of government funds?

How can it be that giving money to an elected representative to influence his vote is legal? How can the American democratic process work if leaders have access to the public till and are permitted to raid the public treasury to persuade (convince) people to vote against their conscience? That sound like a criminal act to me. And if it wasn’t to cause the recipient to get in line, then why was it given to them in the first place. After all, they were all well-known fence sitters on this bill BEFORE they got those huge grants.

Giving bribes to public officials to influence their votes is illegal. Certainly if we found money from outside the government being delivered to a representative in a brown bag, we would arrest the briber. So why does we arrest that briber just because he happens to work INSIDE the capital rather than outside?

Consider this: if a lobbyist didn’t favor this bill and walked around handing out millions of dollars in cash or promises or special treatment to Senators and Congressmen to get them to vote AGAINST the bill, he would be immediately arrested. That’s a felony!

What if each Senator or Congressman published a price list for his vote on various pieces of legislation, to wit: I am not going to support this bill but if you give me a hundred million dollars for a needed new wing on a hospital in my district, then I will indeed cast my vote for the bill. .

Is that okay? Is that legal? Or is it undermining the American legislative process? Is it bribing a public official and isn’t that a Federal crime? I think it is. In fact, I am sure it is. In fact, if that happened the Justice Department would immediately bring charges against both the person offering the bribe and the person ACCEPTING it. That’s a violation of Fiduciary Responsibility on behalf of any elected official and a act of illegal bribery for the guy offering the “favor”. That’s what Reid and Pelosi did to get enough votes to pass their partisan bill. Why shouldn’t they be charged with a crime since everyone knows this is what happened.

And the folks who accepted the bribes then voted for the legislation favored by the Speaker and the Senate Majority leader – two small time politicians one from the very limited area of San Francisco and the other from the rather small state of Nevada which earns its money from gambling, prostitution and game playing.

Did something say these two characters are above the law? Did someone tell them they could use all the money this government has at its disposal to “influence – or is it to BUY – votes in Congress?

If so, who told them that? Who told them they were above the law? Who said it was okay to bribe Congressmen and Senators with public monies?

What the hell is going on here? I thought we elected representatives to vote their conscience – to vote for what they thought was good for America? Now we learn they can bargain away their votes for cash and favors whenever possible and that’s okay with us?

No, it’s really not. That’s undermining the political process. That’s using everyone tax dollars to buy votes for their (Pelosi and Reid) personal political agenda. MY tax money was used to bribe people to vote for a bill I personally do not approve of. But even that’s not the important thing. The important thing is IT’S BRIBERY. It’s a CRIME.
Exchanging money or favors for votes may be politics but it’s still a CRIME. I think its called “undue influence”.

How many different ways is this wrong? How many different ways should this be illegal? Why aren’t Pelosi and Reid up on charges of undermining the US Political process. Instead of letting Senators and Representatives come to the conclusion that best suits their consciences, these so-call “leaders” are willing to shell out big bucks to BUY THEIR VOTES RIGHT INSIDE THE CAPITAL!

This is honest representative government in action? Like hell it is. It’s using public money to bribe public officials and anyone caught doing this should go to jail!

So how come someone in Justice isn’t looking into this? How come we don’t talk to that California representative who admitted IN PUBLIC that he exchanged his vote on health care for some money to build a new wing to a hospital in his district. How about we talk to the Congresswoman who walked home with 300 million of taxpayer dollars for “Katrina victims” in exchange for her vote on The Health Care bill. Or the Senator from Arkansas who didn’t make up her mind until Reid gave her a pocketful of tax dollars for her district. And how many others were given this special brand of persuasion? What do we have in our government’s inner circles, people that trained in the Mafia? Hell why use money to bribe them, why not just make them an offer they can’t refuse! That would work just as well.

Does this make sense to you? Do you know that Reid and Pelosi just paid almost half a BILLION dollars to buy these three votes and God knows how many more? And no one wants to challenge this in Federal Court? Folks, this is bribery! This is NOT legal! If this is the way these people are running our government, they all need to be charged with crimes and brought to trial!!! .Why not stand at the door of the Hall and simply hand out thousand dollars bills to the congressmen and women as they come in. You know a big smile and a “Hope you are with us on this one, this is for you.”
And you hand that the thousand dollar note.

Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid have BRIBED at least three Representatives and Senators. No one can tell me this is lawful or legal or proper. It is none of these things. What it is, is criminal! Let’s shine a spotlight on this and watch which rats scurry for cover. .

I want these two charged with bribing high government officials. I think the case against them is open and shut. And it will invovled far more than three people, I will bet you. God knows how much of our money these two have used to BUY this legislation.

The people we sent to Washington as our representatives are supposed to vote on conscience not for cash on the barrel head. .Hell, if they can be bribed on one project, why not on another? And if they can be bribed why can’t everyone. Or can they?

And if everyone can, what kind of government is this and why do we bother to vote. I thought we elected representatives to represent US – but apparently they represent whomever gives them the biggest kick back. I can see them now taking the oath with one hand on the Bible and the other held open behind them where people can stuff money into it.

CALL IT WHAT IT IS – WHAT THESE TWO DID WAS TO BRIBE HIGH GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS IN ORDER TO UNDULY INFLUENCE OUR LEGISLATIVE PROCESS. I AM NOT SURE BUT I THINK THAT’S A FEDERAL CRIME NO MATTER WHO DOES IT!!!!!!

So let’s file charges and see what rats run out of the smoking building.

God Bless America. God Bless honesty and integrity. It seems to have disappeared from our government – maybe we should do something to bring it back

On behalf of the American voter, I demand an investigation be opened immediately to determine if Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid broke the law in giving special consideration to at least these three elected officials in order to cause them to change their vote on the Health Care Bill.

Because if they did, they belong in jail!!!
